Did you know that the most widely-used small business accounting software program is QuickBooks? Are you interested in an accounting operations career? Would you like hands-on training in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office 2010?

Our Accounting Operations program offers you accounting classes on how to perform the accounting procedures for sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. More specifically, you will learn to prepare and analyze journals, ledgers, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, adjusting entries, closing entries, financial statements, and accounting for a merchandising business.

You will also receive hands-on training in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office 2010 (Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint/Publisher/Outlook). Our program offers you the skills necessary to write effective business correspondence, prepare a resume, and interview for a job. Upon completing the program, you will have the knowledge and skills for a job in the accounting field like: junior accountant, bookkeeper, accounting clerk, payroll specialist, accounts payable clerk, and accounts receivable clerk.

Requirements

  • Prospective students must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Prospective students are required to schedule an appointment with our Guidance Department prior to enrollment.
  • Prior to program completion, students are required to achieve the following scores on the “Test for Adult Basic Education” (TABE): 
    • Mathematics 9.0
    • Language 9.0
    • Reading 9.0
